: When I became a Christian, back in 1973, I came out of a drugs and sex and music/entertainment world, that I knew the Lord was requiring me to put down forever. It was a death for me to lose my women singers...people who's music had walked me through my life....women who's music I myself had sung...Aretha, Carol King...many others. I knew I was no longer to listen to, or perform this music and my heart felt silenced....until I heard Danibelle....I was never aware of contemporary black gospel music, because I was outside the church.....but once I was befriended by my brothers and sisters in Christ who grew up on the Southside of Chicago, AND in the church, they hipped me to Danibelle! I remember the first time I saw her live in Chicago, and was SO BLESSED to meet her backstage...I ran up to her weeping and thanking her for the music she wrote, played and sang.
: To this day, Danniebelle's I'M YOURS, remains my favorite song to sing.
: I sing now in an urban gospel group, GRACE&GLORYEnsemble, and a Jazz group GOD'Zone...and continue to sing I'M YOURS at countless places, the last being for the 20year anniversary of WORLD RELIEF, CHICAGO, as a sung prayer/introduction for Clive Calver, the president of WORLD RELIEF.
: My daughter Adriel is going to Nigeria in January, on a month-long missions outreach, and my husband, Stu Heiss, (lead guitarist for Rez Band)and I leave for Uganda and Tanzania in March, with MUSIC for the World, a group that brings musical instruments, gear, etc etc. from the rich western churches, to the suffering church world wide, to encourage and compliment the worship and recording of the beautiful worship music that is taking place there.
: We are blessed to have had Danniebelle at our early CORNERSTONE FESTIVALS and regard her Christmas album as one of the best all time musical honors to our Lord.
: Our prayers are with your family...we rejoice to know that soon our dear sister Dannibelle will behold the face of her Beloved as He embraces her saying, "Job well done, my good and faithful servant...enter into the kingdom I have prepared for you...for YOU'RE MINE, and I know, I'M yours".
: With dearest affection,
