He Is King

It's time again to bring out the stockings and the carefully wrapped decorations, time again to string the lights around the house, and time again for warm egg-nog…how I love warm egg-nog!

Sometimes I get so caught up in the traditions of the Christmas season that I tend to forget the real reason for the Celebration…the birth of the King. Imagine that…He was Jesus, Lord at His birth…no need for pomp and ceremony, no royal heraldry to announce His incarnation, just a heavenly host of angels appearing to some of the sheep keepers, telling then of the Savior's birth.

The song of the Angels has become the melody of praise of all who adore Him. As the Magi offered their gifts to the infant King, I sing these songs of praise and adoration to my King.

Danniebelle

The idea for this Christmas album was conceived on a hot, muggy night in Dallas in July at the 1973 CBA Convention. It was about 11:00 p.m. after an exhausting day, and Light and Word were hosting a reception for the delegate dealers.

Andraé Crouch took a breather and announced that Danniebelle Hall would take over at the piano and sing a song. Well, for the next eight minutes we heard a rendition of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" the likes of which we'd never heard before…Just Danniebelle and her piano…She sang it like a lullaby; then she sang it like an opera. The audience responded to every note and proved it with a great ovation.

On this new album we have captured that tenderness, that warmth, that passion and vibrance as Danniebelle shares with us the music of Christmas in her very own style.
